  • When are property taxes due?

    Property tax payments are due November 2nd. Postmarks are not accepted.


  • Who do I contact about enrolling my child in school?

    Essex North Supervisory Union (Northeast Kingdom Choice School District).

  • What are the Town Clerk’s office hours?

    The office is open Tuesday and Thursday, 8-3 with the exception of federal holidays.


  • When do I need to license my dog?

    Any dog over the age of six months needs to be licensed by April 1st. Please bring current rabies certificate to the Town Clerk’s office.


  • Does Kirby provide trash services?

    No, Kirby does not. Trash can be brought to a surrounding town, or you can contact a waste company for local pick up.


  • When are Selectboard meetings held?

    Selectboard meetings are normally held on the first Monday of every month. If the first Monday is a holiday, the Selectboard will choose an alternate date.


  • Where can I find a copy of your current zoning regulations or building permit application?

    You can find our current zoning regulations and building permit application in the forms section of this website, or in person at the office.



  • Who do I contact for road repairs?

    Please contact the Town Clerk’s office and we will contact the Road Foreman.


  • How can I register to vote?

    You may register online through the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page mvp.vermont.gov/ or you may register in person at the Town Clerk’s Office. The State of Vermont passed a law to allow same-day registration that went into effect in 2017. This means that you could register to vote at the poll on election day.
